The concept

A camera company whose entire pitch is that you can open it. Not a spec race — a stance against glued-shut, calibration-locked hardware. Every part lifts out with a 2mm hex key, every mount is a published standard, the exploded diagrams ship in the box. Tone: an instrument maker, not a consumer electronics brand. The name is the measuring scale on a caliper.

Typeface

Bodoni Moda (900) for display — a high-contrast didone, deliberately *not* a grotesque. The brief's own warning is that Inter and Space Grotesk are the safe faces that make AI sites read generic, so the display face here is the opposite: sharp, thin-thick, editorial. Chivo Mono (300) for everything else — a measuring instrument should speak in monospace.

Cursor — Bespoke cursor: a vernier scale

- Bespoke cursor: a vernier scale. Three hairlines; the outer two slide apart over anything interactive, the way a caliper opens. Not a circle, not a dot. - Hero subject uses mix-blend-mode: screen — the clip's background is near-black, so screen drops it entirely and the camera floats between the two type layers with no matte. - Scroll IS the playhead. All-intra encode (every frame a keyframe) so scrubbing is frame-accurate in both directions. Seeks fire inside rAF, never in the scroll handler, and never on a delta smaller than one frame. - One orchestrated entrance — wordmark line-masks rise, then nav fades in sequence. Not scattered scroll fades. - Film grain overlay, scroll-progress hairline, eased (smoothstep) ramps throughout, corner beats crossfaded on a bell curve so scrubbing back and forth never flickers. - Reduced-motion collapses the stage; touch keeps the pinned story but loops the clip instead of scrubbing, because iOS seeking is unreliable.

Layout

1. Pinned story hero (380svh) — full-width VERNIER wordmark split into a FRONT and a BACK layer, with the camera clip between them, occluding the middle letters. Micro-copy in the two bottom corners moves through three beats: Serviceable → Documented → Yours. No buttons. 2. The claim — "Every other camera is *glued shut*." Asymmetric 12-col: statement left, detail offset right and bottom-aligned. 3. Measured, not marketed — a five-row index. Sensor swap, dynamic range, open gate, power, parts guarantee. Numbers right-aligned in the accent. 4. Footer — "Open it yourself." on ink.
